Mona Sue Widder

Sue Widder, 81, of Dover, passed away at the home of her son in New Philadelphia, on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 following a short period of declining health. She was born in Strasburg on September 3, 1939 to the late Alva and Helen (Middaugh) Michael and married Benjamin E. Widder on December 27, 1956. He died on February 20, 1992. She loved being a homemaker, her gardening and Widder Family Christmas Tree Farm for many years. She is survived by her children, Ben Widder and Carrie (Dave) Snyder both of Dover and Peggy (Jay) VanNatter and David (Linda) Widder both of New Philadelphia; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and was looking forward to the addition of another in September; her sisters, Gertrude "Trudy" Myer of Carson City, Nevada and Patricia Parson of Massillon; and her sister-in-law Phyllis Michael of Lakeland, Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers Richard and Hershel. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11 AM at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugarcreek with Pastor Bruce Sexton officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
