Michael Sabetta, 63, of Chesapeake, Virginia, formerly of Watertown, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was surrounded by his family with the golf channel on and his favorite music playing in the background. Mike was born in Waterbury, CT and predeceased by his parents, Patsy and Gertrude (Capobianco) Sabetta. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he earned his masters degree and affectionately received his college nickname, Rock. Rock spent his career as a pharmacist where he counted the days until retirement and always looked forward to the next vacation with his friends and family. Each day Mike would look forward to his next music cruise on the Rock Boat where he shared his joy for music with the friends who became family, as evidenced by their nickname for him, Uncle Mike. Uncle Mike's passion did not stop with music. His love for all things sports included his favorite team, the New York Yankees of which he spent many hours watching, and sometimes yelling at, on his phone or television. His love for the Yankees was only surpassed by his everlasting love for his family. He is survived by and lived with his daughter Kayleigh Driscoll, and her husband, Chad, and his grandchildren Pierce, Nolan, Mia, and Gracie; and his son, Brandon Sabetta with whom he spent many hours on the golf course always giving each other "one more swing." He is also survived by his sister, Susan Gudas, her husband Mocha Joe, and their children, Mike and Chris Gudas, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews of whom he loved dearly. The memorial service will be held 11:00am on July 31st with calling hours beginning at 10:00am at the Oman Funeral Home and Crematory located at 653 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
