“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof and be glad. 3 O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together.” Psalms 34:1-3 A Time To Be Born *** Gayhart Anceleus Northam was born on April 7, 1961 in Onancock, Virginia to Catherine Northam and the late Booker Anderson. A Time To Learn *** Gayhart was educated in the Accomack County Public School System and received his diploma from Onancock High School in Onancock, Virginia. A Time To Serve *** Gayhart dedicated his life to Christ at an early age at St. John Baptist Church in Onancock, Virginia. He was formerly a member of the National Guard. He was a hard and dedicated worker. During his lifetime, he held employment positions with Virginia Wesleyan, KMX, Wharton Services, Walmart, and most recently Salisbury University. His most recent employer, Salisbury University praised his high work ethics, commitment, and dedication to the job. One of a kind. A Time To Love *** Gayhart was blessed to have two loving children, Terrell Northam and Ticara Crosby, and also three step children, Brian, Jabrea, and A’Keen White with his wife, Valestine Northam, whose love remained in his heart. A Time To Laugh *** You could always count on Gayhart to be the life of the party, he always had a joke and infectious laughter. His favorite saying was “Wiki wiki wiki.” He treasured his family outings and loved cooking on the grill. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed being with his mother and other siblings. He also loved riding out with his close friends, Eric Matthews and Dwayne West. A Time To Rest *** On Sunday, July 18, 2021 Gayhart unexpectedly slipped away from this life at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia. A Time Of Peace *** He leaves the following to carry on his memories: loving mother, Catherine Northam; son, Terrell Northam (Monique); daughter, Ticara Crosby; wife, Valestine Northam; stepsons, Akeen (Ashely) White and Brian (Sonya) White; stepdaughter, Jabrea White; sisters, Jennifer Northam, Sheila (Lindsey) Williams, Anita Selby, and Vanessa Locklear; brothers, Kevin (Katherine) Northam and Warren Northam; grandchildren, Aah’Niyah Heyward, Ronta Brown, Jr., Taylor, Talaya, and Terrell Northam, Jr.; special friend, Cheryl Harmon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends that will miss him dearly. “ I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11
