Hugh Albert Nelson, 78, widower of the late Margaret Faye Adams Nelson, died Monday July 19, 2021. He was born in Chicago, IL to the late Max and Margaret Jones Nelson. Hugh was a maintenance supervisor in the coal mines of Eastern, KY. He later moved to Paris, KY where he worked at Toyota Motor Manufacturing as an Assistant Manager in the Maintenance Department, after retiring from Toyota, he took a job at RGI in Georgetown, KY. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the American Legion Post 257 in Millersburg, KY, a member of the Patriot Guard and a member of the Spears Mill Baptist Church, Paris, KY. He is survived by two daughters, Pam Nelson Yazell (Kevin Gray) and Cathy Nelson (Johnnie) Oakley; nine grandchildren, Amber (David) Vence, Haleigh Yazell, T.J. Yazell, Conner Yazell, Kaitlyn (Patrick) Timby, Hugh (Heather) Oakley, Cody Gibson IV, Chase (Emily) Gibson and Colton Gibson; two great grandchildren, Luka Israel and Caisen Timby; four sisters-in -law, Shirley Sands, Sue (Bobby) Hall, Carol (Tom) O’Grady and Pearl (Doug) Banks; two brothers-in-law, John (Debbie) Adams and Larry Adams and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vicki Nelson Gibson. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 PM Saturday July 24, 2021 at Bedford Acres Christian Church, 5414 Lexington Rd., Paris, KY by Rev. Phillip Ronk. Visitation will be from 1-5 PM Saturday July 24, 2021 at the church. Military honors will be performed immediately following the funeral service at the church.
