Jacob Michael Salmon

Jacob (Jake) Michael Salmon of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2021. He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved mother, Tammy Salmon; uncle, Dr. Joseph Salmon; grandparents, Charles and Dorthy Salmon; and grandfather Sonny Duncan. Jake was born July 10, 1992, in Salem, VA, to Michael and Tammy (Spangler) Salmon. Jake had a fun-loving personality and enjoyed playing guitar, hiking, hunting, and fishing. He was the kindest person with a servant’s heart. Above all, the most important things to him were his relationship with God and his family. His biggest accomplishments were achieving all-district offensive and defensive lineman at Glenvar varsity football, graduating from Radford University with a 4.0 GPA in Computer Science, and obtaining his dream job at Eastman Chemical Company. He is survived by his father, Michael Salmon; brother, Ben Salmon; grandmother, Joyce Duncan; aunt and uncle, Skip and Judi Salmon; aunt and uncle, Diane and Bill McConnell; girlfriend, Eva Intravaia; as well as many cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, VA. A celebration of Jacob’s life will also be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service. Pastor Dan Netting will be officiating. In honor of Jake and his mother, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen National Breast Cancer Foundation.
