<p>Montie Gardner Hoover, 82, of Mount Gilead, passed away, Monday morning, July 19, 2021 at Pinehurst Health and Rehabiliation. </p> <p>Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Hamer Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Sedberry will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead. </p> <p>Montie was born July 2, 1939 in Montgomery County to the late Bryant and Bessie Dunn Gardner. She was a member of Hamer Creek Baptist Church. She was a Day Care operator.</p> <p>In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Gardner, Frank Gardner and Doc Gardner; sisters, Polly Dunn, Thelma Gardner, Verna Mae Deaton, Betty Byrd and Jennie Belle Robbins</p> <p>She is survived by her daughter, Dale Hogan and husband Rick of Troy; one granddaughter, Amanda Lytton of Troy; three great-grandchildren: Landon Hamilton, Macy Hamilton, and Ellie Lytton; brother, David Gardner of Mount Gilead; and many nieces and nephews. </p> <p>Memorials may be made to First Health Hospice 251 Campground Rd, West End, NC 27376; or Gideons International P.O.
