John Paul Charles

John Paul Charles age 58 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away at his residence. He was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on April 22, 1963 the son of the late John Bill and Arizona (Newsome) Charles. He is survived by two brothers, Gary Lee Charles (Leslie) and Eddie Dean Charles (Jennifer) also five sisters, Sharlene Charles, Joann Stanfield (Charlie), Jean Fraganeno, Tonia Gail Baldridge (Monty) and Linda Maynard (Ronald) all of Pikeville, Kentucky. He is also survived by 11 nephews and 6 nieces. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday July 20, 2021 at the Energyville Free Will Baptist Church at Shelby Valley and all day Wednesday, July 21, 2021 with services each evening at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Energyville Free Will Baptist Church with David Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, Kentucky.

I always loved Jomp. Always had a “girlfriend” or he was buying you a car or house. I remember that so well when I was so little. He had the softest hand and I loved to hear him laugh. The biggest smile and loving heart! Love you John Paul Charles❤️❤️❤️

He was the only man to ever buy me a brick home lol He said that to me the first time I met him. I wasn’t around John a lot but I’ve heard so much about him, he was a great person and fun to be around. He will be missed for sure. Praying for the family.

Uncle “Jomp” had many difficulties in his lifetime, yet never complained. How blessed were we to have someone in our lives that makes goodbye so hard.
