Jacob Samuel Tipton , 89 Mar 2, 1932 - Jul 15, 2021 Born March 2, 1932 in Washington DC, Sam passed away peacefully on July 15, 2021. A Maryland resident his entire life, he spent the past 40 plus years as a resident of Hagerstown. He worked at the Review and Herald Publishing Company for nearly 30 years, prior to that he worked in food service as a cook early in his career. Sam was a very devoted family man, an active member of the Williamsport Seventh-Day Adventist church, and an animal lover. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Tipton Sr. and his mother, Mildred (Floyd)Tipton. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Peggy Ann (Sisler)Tipton; son Jerry, and his wife Patricia; daughters Karen and Judy; grandchildren Jeremy, Christopher, Crystal, David, Jennifer, Joshua and Michael; 13 great grandchildren: and brothers Roy, Jr., William, and Charles. Relatives and friends will be received at Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Williamsport Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 16421 Lappans Road, Williamsport, MD. Viewing will be held 30 minutes prior at the church. Interment Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
