Jimmy Ostrom

James “Jimmy” Allen Ostrom was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and son. He will be greatly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Jimmy was born on February 8, 1972, in Missoula to Ole and Nova Ostrom. He attended Hawthorne Elementary, CS Porter and graduated from Big Sky High School in 1991. He married Kim McMahon in 1993, together they had his only son, Tanner. Jimmy shared a love for logging with his family and worked alongside his dad and brother at Double O & Sons for many years. Jimmy was currently employed at Big Sky Fulfillment. Jimmy passed away peacefully in his home on July 7th, 2021 from natural causes, at the age of 49. Survivors include his parents, Nova and Ole; His son Tanner (Selah); his beloved grandson, Owen; His only brother, Chris (Nicci); and nephews, Bryce and Beau. Jimmy also had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jimmy’s biggest joys in his life were his son and grandson whom he adored. Jimmy was a family man and enjoyed any time he was able to spend with his family. He was especially close to his parents and loved spending time with them at their house. Jimmy’s life will be celebrated on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula, Montana. The family will receive friends following the celebration of life at the funeral home. A social gathering at the Ostrom’s family residence will follow at 2:00 PM.
