SANTHA R. ZAIK Santha R. Zaik, 70, a longtime resident of the Forest Grove community, passed away Monday morning, July 12, 2021 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home, 2308 Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception, immediately following the chapel ceremony, to be held at the Zaik family home. SANTHA RENE ZAIK was born April 14, 1951, in Watford City, North Dakota, the daughter of Reginald Romeo Reetz and Cora Alvina (Christensen) Reetz. Santha was a graduate of the Tolna High School Class of 1968. Upon her high school graduation, she attended Valley City State College in Valley City, North Dakota, receiving a Bachelor of Science with a focus in music. In 1977, she moved to Oregon, settling in the Forest Grove community, where she went to work for Pacific University. Santha served in several positions over her 40-plus year career. Her greatest achievement was coordinating the Music in May festival for the past twenty-five years. Santha was a talented musician, an amazing gardener, and a gatherer of people. She loved spending time in the backyard with her many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reginald and Cora Reetz. Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Becky and Glenn Edwards, of Banks, Oregon; Sam and Jaime Zaik, of Yamhill, Oregon and Jessica Hauser, of Beaverton, Oregon; her brother, Lorado Reetz, of Jackson, Wyoming and her two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kaye Ellis, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Cindy (Scott) Gundy, of Parker, Colorado. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Riley Zaik; Jedidiah Leland Romeo Zaik; Fox Zaik; Jessica Edwards, Clayton Edwards, Warren Edwards, Ashley Edwards, Keeli Estelle Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.
