Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 12, 2021, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Clarence L. Begnaud, 90, who passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at his residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:30 am until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday by Jeannette Kidder. Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Barbara Bird and Wendy Begnaud. Gift Bearers will be Jade Hebert and Derrick Taylor. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Clarence was a heavy equipment operator for the State of Louisiana for 37 years. After his retirement from the state, he became self-employed motor patrol operator. Clarence was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Indian Bayou Hunting Club, Bayou State Rabbit Hunters Federation, and Fusilier Complex. In his spare time, Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Astros Baseball fan and loved attending the games in Houston. Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hilda Lanclos Begnaud; daughters, Connie Begnaud Olivier, Charlene Begnaud Taylor (Donovan) and Harriet Begnaud Taylor (Tommy); brothers, Carrol Begnaud (Nell), Calvin Begnaud and Henry Begnaud (Audrey Berard); sister, Theresa Rockhold; grandchildren, Cherie Dautreuil (Chad), Luke A. Begnaud, Joseph Taylor (LaNey), Joshua Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Derrick Taylor and Brittany Boudreaux (Ryan); and great-grandchildren, Mason Hebert, Jade Hebert, Kaden Taylor, Trevor Taylor, Vivian Boudreaux and Barrett Boudreaux. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Begnaud; great-grandchild, Aubree Faye Taylor; mother, Lula Stakes Begnaud Guidry; father, Luke Begnaud; brother, Harold Begnaud; infant sister, Theresa Begnaud; sister-in-law, Shirley Dugas Begnaud; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Rockhold. Pallbearers will be Luke A. Begnaud, Matthew Taylor, Mason Hebert, Donovan Taylor, Chad Dautreuil and Erwin "Tyo" Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Guidry, Derrick Taylor, Michael Olivier and Gabe Robin.
