<p>Paloma M. Dillon, 94, of Tremont, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at OSF Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria. She was surrounded by love and her family.</p> <p>She was born November 19, 1926 in St Louis, MO to John &amp; Leila Lucero Duncanson.&nbsp;&nbsp;She married Harlan Dillon, her husband of 72 years, on July 8, 1949 in Green Valley, and he survives. Harlan and Paloma lived in the house Harlan built 40 years ago until her recent hospitalization. They had a wonderful and loving life together. They are thankful for the love and support of family and friends.</p> <p>She is survived by her son and daughter; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.&nbsp;</p> <p>Paloma attended Mount Pleasant Grade school, Green Valley Grade School, graduated from Green Valley High School in 1944 and Illinois State in Normal in 1948.&nbsp; She belonged to the Business Education Club, Pi Omega Pi Fraternity, Symphonic Band and Marching Band. Paloma taught Business subjects at Minier High School after graduation from Illinois State.</p> <p>When changing locations when Harlan was in the Navy, they always looked for locations for schools and churches for the children and family to worship.</p> <p>Paloma was involved in several missions in the local area. She and Harlan volunteered at the Festival of Trees, Midwest Distribution Center and Heifer International. She was a member of the Tremont Methodist Church since they moved to Tremont in 1982. She served on many committees in the Church and was an active member in United Methodist Women.</p> <p>Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Tremont United Methodist Church. Pastor Larry Frank will officiate. A visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Tremont. Paloma requested people attending the visitation/funeral wear something colorful to celebrate a life well lived.</p> <p>Memorials may be made to the Tremont United Methodist Church.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
