Ramona "Irene" (Armstrong) Davis, 92, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 8, 2021 at Parkvue Healthcare Center. Irene was born on February 17, 1929 in Toledo, OH to the late Jack and Bernice (Woodburn) Armstrong. Irene grew up in Sandusky, but lived much of her life in the Akron/Canton area. As a young woman, Irene enjoyed dancing, taking trips on the O.E. Beckling and going to Cedar Point. She worked at Pickett's Cherry Farm in Bellevue as a teenager. She was a life long homemaker, who loved collecting recipes and cooking. Irene enjoyed reading newspapers and clipping special articles to share with her sons. She enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, seeing musicals and trying her luck at the casinos. Irene also enjoyed drives in the country and shopping trips to Amish Country. Irene is survived by her two sons, James (Priscilla) Mira of Bellevue, OH (son of her former husband, Anthony J. Mira) and Terry (Kathy) Davis of Henderson, NV (son of her late husband, Verrill C. Davis); two granddaughters, Emily (Steve) Mira Popke and Beth (Chris) Mira-Wells both of Sandusky; great grandsons, Austin Blay and Ryan Wells; her lifelong friend, Alyce Gentner of Canal Fulton; special sister-in-law, Evelyn Moser of Canfield and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She will be sadly missed. After her husband, "Cater" Davis' death, she and her family appreciated the help of neighbors, Mark and Lisa Rogers of Canal Fulton for several years until she moved back to Sandusky. In addition to her parents, Irene is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Verrill C. Davis. A special thank you from the family to Dr. Brian Baxter for his compassionate care over the past few years and also to the staff at Parkvue Healthcare Center. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron along with her husband, Verrill C. Davis. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers those wishing to contribute to Irene's memory may do so to one's favorite charity.
