Matthew James McGrath
<p>It is with sadness that the family of Matthew James McGrath announces his passing on Thursday July 8, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 16, 1935, he was the son of the late James and Edith (Greer) McGrath. Matt was a farmer for many years and was very devoted to his family. He was affectionally known to his grandchildren as “Happy”.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife Shirley (Garnett) McGrath; son Mark (Bonnie) McGrath; brothers Orland (Sandra), Andrew (Jeannie); sister Mary Naves; grandchildren Nicholas, Rhonda, Shane, Shannon; great-grandchildren Jacob, Katie, Sammy and Lexi. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Wayne, daughter Nadine, brother John and sisters Edith, Marie and Eileen.</p> <p>Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd on Friday July 9, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 10 a.m. Due to the ongoing pandemic, all wishing to attend the funeral are asked to call the funeral home directly at 646-2424 to RSVP.
