The family writes -- Harold Wovsaniker, attorney, 92, of Whippany, New Jersey. Harold Wovsaniker passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 8, 2021. Harold was a graduate of Rutgers Law School and started his law practice in Newark, New Jersey with his father-in-law, Samuel Gooen and his brother-in-law, Myron Brody. He and his wife Sally Gooen Wovsaniker, who predeceased him in 2008, lived most of their lives in Hillside, New Jersey, where Harold was the Mayor in 1976, a two term Town Council member, Police Commissioner, and Municipal Court Judge for 20 years. Harold was an avid tennis and bridge player and a great fan of Broadway, passions he instilled in his two sons, Alan and Mark. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Erica and Evan, two great grandchildren, and a loving and devoted niece, Beth Brody Erman. He will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held at Menorah Chapels at Millburn, in Union, New Jersey on Sunday July 11 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Sharey Tefilo Israel, 432 Scotland Road, South Orange, New Jersey.
