Henry Gordon Farewell Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts to announce Henry G. Farewell passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Hospital on July 7, 2021, surrounded by his family and loving spouse of 21 years at the age of 67.

Henry was a kind, gentle man with a great sense of humor. He treasured his family, having a beer with the boys and enjoyed the sport of fishing. He was a master at charades and left his audience wanting more! Henry loved spending time with his children, his grandchildren and he kept a special place in his heart for his step daughter and her children.

His is survived by his loving sweetheart, Claudia Kelly, who was next to his side every step, in both sickness and in health. Henry had a big heart and cherished all life had to offer, he will be greatly missed by all.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his spouse, Claudia Kelly; daughter, Nicole Farewell (Rob Atamatchuk) of Kitimat, BC; son, Michael Farewell of Edmonton, AB; stepdaughter, Pamela Taylor of Red Deer, AB; 5 grandchildren, Ciarra, Tristen, Emily, Rachel and Sullivan; brothers, Charles Farewell (Verlie) of Creston, Cecil Farewell (Jess) of Halifax, NS, Bill Farewell of Marystown, and Austin of Creston; sisters, Rona Legge of Marystown, Ruby Pardy (Rendell) of Garnish, Nora Stapleton (Vince) of Marystown, Florence Cleal of Marystown and Cindy Smith (Keith), Halifax, NS.

He will be likewise missed and mourned by Claudia’s family. Her brothers, Adrian (Deby) of Alcomdale, AB, Dan (Sharon) of Marystown, Phil of Edmonton, AB, Michael (Joan) of Marystown, Brian (Connie) of Calgary, AB, and Bruce of Lethbridge, AB; sister, Beatie (Fred) of Creston; and her mother, Anne of Marystown.

Henry would like to thank Doctors, Nurses and staff of Eastern Health who were a great help during this journey.

In honoring his wishes cremation will take place.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery at a later date.

Always a smile instead of a frown, Always a hand when one was down,

In silence he suffered, with patience he bore, Until God called him Home to suffer no more.
