Henry B. Stevens Obituary

Henry B. Stevens, 86, of Nashua, NH passed on Saturday July 3, 2021. He was born February 22, 1935, in Nashua, NH, to parents Mervin and Evelyn Stevens. Henry was very skilled with his hands and owned his own upholstery company, Heritage Upholstery, for over 50 years. He was inspired to become an upholsterer by his Grandfather Leslie Haskell. His mother Evelyn was very artistic and Henry inherited that skill set by showcasing the many wonderful pieces of furniture he brought back to life with his creative workmanship with fabrics and wood. He loved working on his cars, his favorite being anything made by Ford. As a boy he built his own wooden car from the ground up; he was always very resourceful when it came to building and fixing things. Henry loved to watch racing, especially the Indy 500, and often envisioned he was a racecar driver while driving his truck. He also loved to barbecue and was a great cook on the grill. Henry married Carole Edwards in 1970 and they shared many wonderful years with their (5) children. He loved to bike with his late wife Carole. Cape Cod and Maine were two of their favorite travel destinations. Together they had a beautiful campground up in Kennebunk, Maine where they enjoyed many happy vacations. They once took three months to do a cross country trip together as well. He was well loved by his family and friends, and they will miss him dearly. Henry is survived by his sons Marty Edwards, Brian Edwards, Danny Edwards and Jeffrey Stevens (Pre-deceased) and Son-in-law Donald Wemple : his daughter Noreen Wemple and daughter in-laws Michelle Stevens and Linda Edwards; his brothers Mervin Stevens Jr. and David Stevens and Donald Stevens (Pre-deceased) ; his sisters Barbara Katsiaficas, Marilyn Schofield, and Carol Berry; his grandchildren, Thomas Stevens, Summer Stevens, Lucas Wemple, Becky Wemple, Jill Conant, Jaleh Quirion, Samantha Edwards, Lindsey Edwards, Colin Edwards, Spencer Edwards and Nicholas Edwards; as well as five great grandchildren. Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend a funeral mass at St. Christopher’s Church, 62 Manchester St, Nashua, NH, on Thursday July 22, 2021, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, www.stjude.org
