Joseph R. Petrucelli Stratford, Connecticut Obituary

Joseph R. Petrucelli

Joseph Rocco Petrucelli, age 71 of Shelton, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 28, 2021 at home. He was the loving husband of Jean (Laboranti) Petrucelli for 42 years. Joe was born in Bridgeport to the late Louis and Grace (Carafiello) Petrucelli. For over 35 years, Joe worked for Aquarion and the former Bridgeport Hydraulic. Joe was devoted to his family, and to say he was proud of them would be an understatement. He especially treasured his grandchildren and nieces and loved to spend time with them. He was a big collector of sports memorabilia. Joe made a lot of friends throughout his lifetime and treasured every one of them. In addition to his wife, Jean Petrucelli, Joe is survived by his daughter, Rachel Klauser and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Klauser, of Westport, and his son, James Petrucelli and his wife, Sara, of Shelton; his grandchildren, Olivia and Zoey Klauser, and Rocco Petrucelli; 5 beloved nieces; and his mother-in-law Jean Laboranti. Joe was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Louis Petrucelli. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home. To express condolences online visit www.pisteyfuneralhome.com.

I met Joe in 1955 on our first day of kindergarten. Joe always had a kind heart, no matter how hard he tried to hide it. That may have been his most endearing quality
