Jack Barton Hawkins
<p>Jack Barton Hawkins, 71 of Birds Creek Community, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at his residence with family by his side. He was born June 12, 1950 in Newburg, son of the late Olaf Frank and Idella Deretha McGinnis Hawkins. Jack retired as a Skid Operator working in Timber and on the Sawmill for Weaver Brothers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Jack is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Debra Rae Knight Hawkins, whom he married on September 28, 1968; three children, John B Hawkins and Lisa, Arthurdale, Tonya R Hawkins, AL, Melissa Dawn Williams and Michael, Newburg; four grandchildren, Jenna, Jacqueline, Destiny and Nicole; two great granddaughters, Andi and Jurnee; one brother, Olaf Frank Hawkins Jr and Ellen, Newburg; three sisters, Joyce Bolyard and Charles, Newburg, Brenda Swisher and Tom, Newburg, Becky Morrison, Florida; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Adams and Janet Lipscomb. Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, Friday, July 2, 2021 from 2-7 pm, and Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 11am until time of service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Gary Blosser officiating.
