Virginia M. Carbone
<p>Virginia M. Carbone (Ginger), age 71, of Murrells Inlet, passed away peacefully Tuesday June 29, 2021 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.</p> <p>Born in Brooklyn, NY, Ginger was the daughter of the late Louis Metzler and Margaret Metzler. In addition to her parents, Ginger was predeceased by the love of her life, Steve Bruce and her sisters Margaret Barrett and Elizabeth Cruz.</p> <p>A member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Ginger was an incredible and very unique soul. She was a complete combination of strong, caring and loving mixed with a bit of stubborn and opinionated. She was firm in all of those things. Ginger enjoyed walking on the beach and watching the waves come in. She loved angels and believed they are all around us. Ginger loved cooking and entertaining people. She had the ability to make something out of nothing and was very generous in sharing whatever she had prepared. If you were lucky enough to be one of her neighbors she would always make sure your belly was full. Things won’t be the same without Ginger. She will be missed terribly by those who knew and loved her. Yet, we take some comfort in knowing that she’s been reunited with those who’ve gone before her. Until we meet again, we hold our memories close in our hearts.</p> <p>Survivors include her sons, Anthony J. Formisano of Jim Thorpe, PA ; Keith C. Formisano and his wife Tanya of Jim Thorpe, PA; grandson, Joseph Formisano of Clarks Summit, PA; sisters, Dolores O’Neil of Murrells Inlet, SC; Valorie Gordon of Wake Forest, NC and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>A memorial mass will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday July 7, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Garden City, SC. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 6, 2021 with a prayer service at 5:30 PM at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Ginger’s name to the MUSC Children’s Hospital Burned Children’s Fund, 18 Bee Street, MSC 450, Charleston, SC 29425 or online at www.musckids.org</p> <p>Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Murrells Inlet (843.651.1440) is assisting the family. </p>February 17, 1950 - June 29, 202102/17/195006/29/2021
