<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>It is with sadness the family and friends announce the peaceful passing of Marie Helen Mackie, surrounded by her loving family and friends by her side at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday June 29th, 2021. Born on March 26, 1945 in Miramichi, NB daughter of the late Helen Blakely.&nbsp; Marie worked for many years in Saint John as an RNA until her early retirement where she became a full time stay at home Mom to her cherished boys.&nbsp;&nbsp;Marie is survived by her children Chris and Derek and Nanna&#39;s special grandson Casen; sisters Jeanne (John), Anne (Will), special niece Tanya and her children (Cole and Autumn); special friends Rose (Terry) Mackenzie, Corey (Natasha) Savoie as well as her many community children from the Bradley Lake Road where she was best known as &quot;Momma Mackie&quot;.&nbsp; Predeceased by her husband Blaine Mackie; brothers Percy Blakely and Benny Sullivan.&nbsp;&nbsp;Marie was always the first one to step up and lend a helping hand to those who needed help without hesitation always putting everyone else before herself and would often go without if it meant that she was bringing a smile to their face and making them happy. Marie was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Playing Bingo whenever she could, her many card games at home with her boys and her many jam sessions in her home.&nbsp;&nbsp;Marie would like to thank her Doctors and the KV Extra Mural branch for the kindness and help during her illness as well as her family, friends and neighbors for joining together when she needed the love and support the most you all made her a little stronger and it meant the world to her to see such acts of kindness and love.&nbsp;&nbsp;Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB when the funeral service will be held on Saturday July 3, 2021 at 9:00 am.&nbsp;&nbsp;Due to the ongoing pandemic, all wishing to attend the funeral service on Saturday are asked to call the funeral home directly to RSVP (506)-646-2424&nbsp;.&nbsp; Interment will be held in St. Joseph&#39;s Cemetery.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers donations in Marie&#39;s memory can be made to Marie&#39;s living will or to the charity of the donor&#39;s choice.</p> <p>To view the funeral service, please visit the link below:</p> <p><a href="https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1625247494123309">https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1625247494123309</a></p> <p>&quot;Family is not about blood.
