Chavez, Aristides E., age 56, of Prospect Park, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Aristides immigrated to the United States in 1991 and had lived in Prospect Park for more than 20 years. Aristides earned a Masters Degree in Engineering and worked as a mechanical engineer for Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. in Cedar Grove and as a professor at Lincoln Technical Institute. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Paterson. Aristides was the beloved husband of Bertha (nee: Paredes) Chavez. Loving father of Joselyn Chavez of Prospect Park and Jenifer Chavez of Prospect Park. Cherished son of Aidee Ramos of Lima, Peru and the late Hilde Chavez. Dear brother of Berning Chavez of Lima, Peru and Francisco Chavez of Lima, Peru. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 138 Beech Street, Paterson. Cremation will be private. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 6-9 pm at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne.
