Barbara Dixon

It is with sympathy that we announce the passing of Ms. Barbara Dixon of Columbus, MS on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS at the age of 58. Barbara was born January 2, 1963 in Chicago, IL to the union of William Stennis Dixon, Sr. and Louise Dixon. 

Barbara accepted Christ at Ebernezer M.B. Church and later joined Greater Ebernezer M.B. Church in Aberdeen, MS. She graduated from Troy State University, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Barbara was united in holy matrimony to Dr. Henry Lee Moton, Sr. on August 27, 1982 in Vernon, AL and to this union three children were born, TSgt Henry Lee Moton, Jr. (Margie) of Upper Marlboro, MD, MAJ Dr. Eric Lamar Moton (Crystal) of Triangle, VA and Tamara Latryce Moton of Dumfries, VA. She also leaves eight siblings Bessie (Tyrone) Williams, William Dixon, Frances (James) Oglesby, Arthur (Detria) Walker, Andre Dixon, Wilma Dixon, Larry B. Dixon, and Terry B. Dixon, seven grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Greater Ebernezer M.B. Church at 11 a.m.

There will be a visitation Friday, July 9, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at Belle Memorial of Aberdeen, MS

Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery
