Graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 2, 2021 in the Maple Park Cemetery of Springfield, MO. Viewing will be available from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Thursday, July 1. Bernice Marie Ayers Buckley, beloved Mom, Mammaw, and Aunt, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 after a short illness in Tulsa, OK. She was born on January 30th, 1929 to Albert Wesley and Mary Catherine Ayers. She was the youngest of 6 children, all raised on their family farm in Lamar, MO. Bernice was a graduate of Lamar High School. Soon after graduation, she met and married the love of her life C. Ray Buckley on January 3rd, 1948. Together they raised 5 children and became owners of several funeral homes in Oklahoma, including Chouteau, Wetumka, Weleetka, and Dustin. They also owned flower shops in Chouteau and Wetumka. Bernice is survived by her 3 daughters: Joyce Caldwell (Randy) of Broken Arrow OK; Jeannie Merchant (Michael) of Edmond, OK; and Cathy Peters (Tony) of Bixby OK; she is also survived by special son Mark Linholm (Kenneth Joslin) of Tulsa, OK, and sister-in-law Phyllis Buckley of Springfield, MO. She was Mammaw to grandchildren: Randy Kent, Melissa, Amanda, Aaron, Audrey, Nathan, and Allison; and great grandchildren: Isaac, Cooper, Aspen, Ayla, Mason, Braxton, Ava, Mallex, Sage, Morrison, and Baby Boy Mills due in September. She was also aunt to several nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband, and sons Danny and Michael.
