<p>Albert Mitchell passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the age of 100. He was a native of Hessmer, LA, grew up in Simmesport, LA and a longtime resident of Harahan, LA. Beloved husband of 68 years to the late Nita B. Mitchell. Loving father of Debra Mitchell (Richard Painter) and Joyce M. Ball (Michael Sr.). Loving great grandfather and caring grandfather of Michael Ball Jr. and Jason Earl Ball. Son of the late Arthur and Rebecca Mitchell. Albert was a past commander of VFW Post 3267 in Harahan and a member of the American Legion Post 267. He also worked at Schott Meat Packing Company until he retired.<br /> Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Service at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. Metairie on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Internment at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Hwy., Metairie.
