He was a member of the Glasgow Methodist Church, Pencader Grange, Delaware Mobile Surf fisherman and the Wilmington Trapshooting Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to grandchildren's sporting events and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Dee Hamrick (Greg) of Bear, son Henry W. “Butch” Brooks, III (Jen) of Newark, two sisters Jeanne Brooks-DiClemente (Raymond) of Glasgow and Melissa Brooks of Perry, Florida. He is also survived by nine grandchildren Kyle, Ryan, Cory, Cody, Paige, Holly, Gregory, Brandon and Quinn, one great grandson Ian and one nephew, Jeremy of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday July 8, 2021 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm.
