Lillian Delaney (nee Rybnicky), 84, passed away peacefully at her home on June 26, 2021. She raised her family in Metuchen until settling in Monroe Township to enjoy her retirement. Lillian attended Jersey City State College graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Education, and was a primary school teacher for the Woodbridge Township school system. Loving mother to daughter Tracey Keim and her husband William, and daughter Colleen Smith and her husband Doug. Devoted grandmother to Brendan and Garrett Smith. Lillian is also survived by her brother Joseph Rybnicky and his wife Clara, along with their daughter, Maryann Smith, her husband Kris, and their daughter Ann Clare, as well as her niece, Nina Sachs and her husband Brian, and their daughters, Courtney and Gabrielle. Lillian is pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Anna Rybnicky, and her nephew Michael Rybnicky. Lillian enjoyed playing card games with her friends, attending plays and musicals but most of all, she loved sitting in the bleachers and cheering for her grandsons during their various sporting events. Lillian accomplished many things during her life, but her proudest achievement was her family. She was, and will always be, best known for being a wonderful and cherished mother, aunt, and grandmother. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 9:00-10:00 AM at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831. A funeral service will follow Thursday’s visitation at 10:00 AM.
