Steve M. Catena, 46, a lifelong resident of Keansburg, peacefully passed away on June 27th at Bayshore Community Medical Center, Holmdel. He was born on September 30, 1974, to Enid and Raymond Catena at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. For many years Steve worked as a sales professional. In his spare time Steve enjoyed music along with playing many different instruments, he loved to travel, enjoyed cruises and the once-a-year famous Family and Friends gathering at Villa Roma trip. He loved his community so much that he was a life member, and Past President of New Point Fire Company #1, Keansburg EMS, the Chaplain and a member of the 11th District of NJ First Aid Council, Past Fire Commissioner, Keansburg Fire Dept, a member of the Keansburg Exempt Firemen’s Assoc, a chairman of the NJ Firemen’s Home, Boonton, N.J., a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, a Master Mason with the Caesarea Masonic Lodge No. 64 F&AM, Past President Monmouth County Fireman’s Assoc, the Past Vice Commander, chairman of Ways and Means and was a chairman for the fundraising committee all for the Sons of the American Legion Detachment, Past Squadron Commander of Sons of the American Legion Post 273 Keansburg, Past Monmouth County Commander, he was also an ordained minister, and so many other things. too many to mention. Steve is predeceased by his parents, Raymond D. in 2015 and Enid D. in 2014. Surviving is his wife, Jennifer Rodriguez of Keansburg; his stepdaughter, Jocelyn Laguna of Keansburg; a brother and sister in-law, Patrick and Liz Catena of Wayside along with his niece and nephews, Brianna, Aiden and Jake Catena; his beloved dog and best friend, Macie; his aunt, uncle, cousins, friends and extended family. Family will be accepting friends on Tuesday from 4- 8 PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. On Wednesday there will be a 11:00AM service at funeral home. Burial to follow at Bayview Cemetery, Leonardo.
