Theresa Mary Curran Obituary

Theresa Mary B. Curran, died on Sunday, August 25, 2013, surrounded by her children at the Hospice & Community Care Center in Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania. "Terry" was a resident of Traditions of Hershey in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Phillip James Curran who preceded her in death in 1996. Born in Philadelphia, Pa. she was the daughter of Valery and Mary Mitros. She was lovingly called "Tess" by her 6 brothers and their families. Terry was preceded in death by her brothers Valery Mitros, Robert Mitros and Eugene Mitros, she is survived by her brothers Stephen Mitros and his wife Betty, James Mitros and his wife Mary Jane and Anthony Mitros.
Terry was a loving mother to two children, Theresa Mary Dorwart, married to Don Dorwart and Gregory John Curran, married to Elizabeth Curran. She had three grandchildren, Stephanie O'Mara, wife of Matthew G. O'Mara, Jason P. Dorwart, and Miley K. Curran. In addition, Terry had three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Charlotte and John O'Mara.
Terry enjoyed her time at Traditions of Hershey and could often be seen walking her best friend, her dog "Baby" around the grounds. She enjoyed playing bingo and socializing with her friends. Prior to moving to Traditions, Terry lived in Leesburg, Florida. In Leesburg, Terry enjoyed riding in her golf cart, playing golf and shuffleboard, traveling with her friends and "living the good life" in the warm Florida climate.
Terry grew up Manayunk and lived the majority of her life in Roxborough where she raised her children. Terry shared a wonderful zest for life and imparted this on her family and friends. She worked for Sears & Roebuck in Philadelphia in her youth and was a school bus driver for many years. For a time she worked for Becker Associates, Philadelphia, Pa. and as an Office Manager in Conshohocken. When she and Phil retired, they built their dream home together in the Mountains just outside the Poconos. In the mountains, Terry enjoyed fishing, canoeing on the lake and watching the deer, bear and birds on her property. Terry also had an eye for a bargain and enjoyed spending her Saturday mornings at yard sales and going to the Casinos.

Visitation will be from 10:30 - 11:00am immediately followed by a prayer service on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hershey.
