It is with profound sadness that the family of Andrew Stiles, age 44, of Halifax, wishes to announce his passing on Friday, June 18th, 2021. Born in New Brunswick, he was the son of Deborah Phinney and Allan Smith. Andrew was, first and foremost, a loving husband and father. He spent his career as a hard-working and dedicated employee in the electrical utility industry, and especially loved his time working in the field. Andrew was an avid archer and outdoorsman, and found peace spending time in nature. He thoroughly enjoyed his spending time with his family; his younger years at his grandfather’s farm; as well as numerous endeavours and hobbies. He is survived by his greatest love of 19 years, Sylvia Stiles, and their three children; his parents and their spouses Allan Phinney and Deborah Smith. Also survived by so many - his adoptive father Wendell Stiles; maternal grandfather Robert Acton, Laura Acton; paternal grandfather Percy Atkinson; brothers Nathan Phinney, Scott Smith, Ryan Smith; and sister, Rebecca Allen; spouses Jill Phinney, Melanie Smith, Cory Allen as well as In-laws George and Annette Strunz, Stella and Dean Fletcher, children, extended family and friends. He will be forever missed but always in their hearts. He was predeceased by his grandmother Alma Acton; grandmother Alice Atkinson; grandparents Gerald and Jessie Smith, and adoptive mother Marilyn Stiles. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stiles’ children’s RESP.
