Dorothy Elizabeth Laney

Dorothy E. Laney, 96, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by her three children. Dorothy was born to Charles and Louise (Meier) Lauman in Oregon Township, Ohio July 19, 1924. During World War II, Dorothy worked at the Toledo Chevrolet Plant where she met her husband George whom she married September 18, 1948. Dorothy worked for Libbey Glass, J.C. Penney, and retired from K-Mart. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling with family and friends, and playing bingo. Dorothy was a skilled cook, baker, and cake decorator whose talents she shared with family and friends. Her memberships included: Oregon Senior Center and First St. John Lutheran Church. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family who she loved dearly. Dorothy is survived by her children, Kathleen (Steve) Tobis, Debra (Michael Payne) Chandler, and Tim (Debbie Smith) Laney; grandchildren, Gerald “Paul” Gorajewski Jr., Shawna Carney, Alana Tobis, Jamie Tobis, Mindy (John) Kowalski, Carrie Chandler, and Lori (Brad) Davis; great-grandchildren, Tori, T.J., Matthew Maddie, Rickey, Chelsea, Joely, Rex, Indigo, Silas, John, and Evan; sisters, Ethel Norden and Barbara DePew; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; grandchildren, Michale & Melissa Laney; and siblings, Kenneth Lauman, Margaret Granger, Bonnie Zesing, and Betty Lauman. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 10:00 am until funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to First St. John Lutheran Church or Ohio Living Hospice.
