Marjorie E. Reid Obituary

Marjorie Evangiline Reid, affectionately known as “Mama”, was born on March 13, 1943, in Ulster Springs Hospital located in the Jamaican Parish of Trelawny. Mama was born to parents Winston Reid and Edoma Foster. Marjorie went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC. Marjorie departed this life surrounded by the love of her family who will miss her dearly.

Marjorie migrated to the United States from Jamaica in 1987. While in Jamaica she spent many years as a bus conductor. Once in the U.S. Mama became and retired as a Nursing Aide.

Mama was a gifted crocheter, using her gifts to create anything from blankets to dresser top decorations. Her needle work was loved and admired by all who saw it. Mama was an avid collector of figurines with Dolphins being her favorite collectables. She was also really great at remembering and make what she knew was your favorite dish.

Mama is survived by her six children listed from oldest to youngest: Orett, Amarelle, Damian, Ingrid, Latrell and Harrianna. She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Mama also leaves behind Nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who knew and loved her.
