Denise Elizabeth Curtin Obituary

Denise Elizabeth (Jutras) Curtin, was swept away by angels peacefully at her home in Manchester, CT with her loving family by her side on June 15th, 2021 after a short but brave and courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 7th,1954 in Hartford, CT. She was raised in Colchester, CT and was a 1972 graduate of Bacon Academy High School. She then met and married Frank Curtin, the love of her life and moved to Manchester, CT. Married for 46 amazing years filled with love and cherished memories. Denise began her career life at Travelers Insurance in Hartford, CT later moving on to Right Idea’s Inc. in Manchester, CT, and most recently retiring in December of 2020 from the Arbors of Hop Brook in Manchester as a Marketing Executive after 27 years. Her friends and residents at the Arbors turned into family, which she held very dear to her heart. Denise’s personality was much like her favorite color, yellow. Bright, positive and cheerful. She walked into a room and lit it up with her contagious big smile, her bright pink lipstick and warmth to all who were in her presence. She was and always will be the sunshine to so many. She was compassionate and kind to every person that crossed her path. Passionately devoted to both her family and her Catholic faith, which provided her with enormous support throughout her life. Denise’s identical twin girl granddaughters, Elizabeth and Lilly were the LIGHT of her life. Especially being an identical twin herself. She was so immensely proud of them and loved them tremendously. She took her role as “Grandma Nisie” to the highest regard, never being able to go more than a day without seeing them. She enjoyed driving around in her bright yellow Jeep and Mustang, baking, crafting “Nisie’s Creations”, shopping, butterflies and being at their beach home and spending as much time as possible with her twin Debi. She left her “touch” wherever she went through a surprise love note, fresh flowers or a “just because” gift to all of those she loved. Along with spending time with her friends and family she looked forward to her summer’s spent at the family beach house in Rhode Island. She was a wonderful wife, caring and supportive grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, twin, aunt, Godmother and friend and will be sorely missed by all. As a devout Catholic, Denise was a member of the Assumption Church in Manchester. Regularly attending daily mass. She was a member of numerous prayer ministries in Connecticut and traveled to many states praying the Most Holy Rosary and other Catholic prayers at religious prayer cenacles. Her world revolved around her love of God and her unbreakable faith, even up to her final days. Denise was the daughter of Francis Gerard and Marjorie Elizabeth (Hall) Jutras Sr. from Colchester, CT. She was predeceased by her father, Francis Gerard Jutras Sr., her two brother’s Francis “Frankie” Gerard Jutras Jr. and Richard “Ricky” Parker Jutras. Left behind to cherish her beautiful memory is her husband Frank William Curtin, Jr.; her two daughter’s Chanel Curtin and Krystle and her husband Christopher Murray; her two granddaughters Elizabeth Rose and Lilly Grace Murray. Along with her three sisters, her identical twin sister, Deborah and her husband Larry Albaitis of Naugatuck, CT. Theresa and her husband William Sawchuk of Colchester, CT; Christina and her husband Michael Magliano Sr. of Oakdale, CT; her special Goddaughter Lauren Conigliaro from Naugatuck, CT and her special Godson, Matthew Sawchuk and his wife Ashley from North Carolina; along with many additional nieces and nephews who were all very loved. Funeral services will be private to family at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester CT followed by a Mass of Resurrection on Thursday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 27 Adams Street South, Manchester, CT and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford, CT.
