WOODRUFF: Benjamin Edward (ThD) -Peacefully in his 86th year surrounded by love. Predeceased by his parents Buster and Leona Woodruff, and stepmother Faye. Ben leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, Linda, and his adored children Beth (Tim), Leah (Rick), Sarah (Al), Steven, and stepson Rodney (Cindy). He leaves behind,13 grandchildren and their spouses and 25 great grandchildren (2 on the way). Ben was the eldest of 6 children including Ernie (Pat), Evelyn (Marvin), Kenny (deceased), Karon and Aaron.He also leaves his father-in-law Ross Hoover (Elva d), sister-in-law Melody (Lloyd). As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place. A celebration of life will occur at a later date. SERENITY BURIAL & CREMATION, 361 Main Street, Port Dover, Ontario (226) 290-9093 have been entrusted with the arrangements. Ben was outgoing, determined and loved to camp. The highlight each year was getting out the camper and enjoying fun and fellowship at campsites. Ben served as a Pastor in both the USA and Canada and drove for TTC for many years. Although he couldn’t carry a tune, he loved to belt out the songs. You could often find Ben in the garden or working on projects around the house. His determination led him to survive a stroke when in his early 60’s, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma twice and to walk bravely through his last fight with skin cancer. No one can say that he ever gave up. There is never a good time to say goodbye, but there is always the hope to say hello, once again.
