Gordon Karol Smith, age 83, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 in Bulverde, Texas. Gordon was born January 25, 1938 in Atlanta, Texas to Jewel and Louie Smith. Blessed with an opportunity of a full football scholarship, Gordon graduated from the University of Wichita with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. After a successful career with the Boeing Company and General Dynamics – Gordon retired from Lockheed Martin in 1993. An avid woodworker – Gordon enjoyed countless hours in his workshop as well as collecting wood from all over the world. Gordon and his “lovely” wife, Maxine spent the last 24 years living in Granbury, Texas until they relocated to Bulverde Texas to live with family. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his “lovely” wife, Maxine Strickland Smith; daughters, Kelly Smith Hall (husband, George Hall) and Robin Smith Warren (husband, Blake Warren); and son, Ray Karol Smith (wife, Elizabeth Smith). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Samantha Ray Smith, Brady Karol Smith, and Reese Katherine Warren; and one loving sister, Alice Reader (husband, Jim Reader).
