Lester F, Roberts, Jr.,

age 95, passed away at his home in Albuquerque, NM, on June 6, 2021. Lester was born in El Paso, Texas, on January 27, 1926. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife, Flossie (Murphy) Roberts. He is also survived by 7 children,Daughters,  Katherine Roberts (Clint Andreson) of Albuq., NM, Carol Silvoy (Mike) of Reading, PA, Sharon Roberts Albuq. NM, Sons, Lester Roberts III of Serafina, NM, Harold Roberts (Susan) of Spanaway, WA, Fred Roberts ( Teri) of Albuq. NM, Mark Roberts (Julie) of Lacey, WA , 8  grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren)

Lester was a US Army Veteran, having served during World War II and the Korean War. Awards and decorations received: Army Occupation Medal - Germany Bronze Star Combat Infantry Badge Good Conduct Medal - 5th Award Korea Service Medal World War II Victory Medal After 20 plus years, he retired in 1964 as an SFC E7.

After the war, following his interests in radar/ electronics, Lester became an electronics engineer. He continued this career in civilian life after retirement from the Army, receiving his associate degree. It was common to see him at home following the space program, working on different electronics, listening to his many records, tapes and CDs, reading his many books, educational manuals and Bible and enjoying time with his wife and children.
