Haddon R Assink

Haddon Rudkin Assink, age 22, passed away at home unexpectedly on June 9, 2021. Haddon was born on November 5, 1998 in Bellingham, Washington to Ross and Monica (DeKoster) Assink. He was homeschooled along with his six brothers and five sisters. After graduation he worked primarily as an auto mechanic. Sports cars were his passion with an unending stream of automotive restoration projects. Haddon was always willing to help anyone and everyone. He had a heart for the homeless in Bellingham and never hesitated to give. Always looking to entertain, he loved spending time with his family, he loved snowboarding, drawing, and writing/producing hip-hop. A nature and animal lover, his favorite pet was his cat, Froggy. In his younger years, he was a talented football player and trained in MMA. Haddon will be greatly missed by his parents: Ross and Monica Assink, his siblings; Simson, Cormac, Vivien (and her husband Ben) Huff, Griffith, Estelle, Laetitia, Gresham, Kuyper, Maximus, Cecilia and Isidora, along with his extended family of grandparents: Ronald and Patricia Assink and Larry and Marilyn DeKoster, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Greatly missed and forever loved, may his memory be eternal. Haddon’s memorial service will be Saturday, June 19 at 2:00 pm at St. Innocent Orthodox Church in Everson, WA, followed by a burial service at Nooksack Cemetery. Donations in memory of Haddon can be made to Lighthouse Mission Ministries, PO Box 548, Bellingham, WA 98227. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gillies Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
