Elizabeth "Betty" Fiedler Coraopolis, Pennsylvania Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Fiedler

Elizabeth “Betty” Fiedler

After a valiant battle with dementia, Betty left us on Monday, June 7, 2021, to be reunited with her husband of 70 years in the presence of her Lord.

She was born in Pittsburgh on January 8, 1928, to the late William and Esther Johnston and was a resident of Coraopolis, PA since 1961. Her chosen vocation in life was that of wife and mother, but above all, she was a devout follower of Jesus Christ, who selflessly gave her time and energy in the service of others. Betty was active with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, taught 4th grade CCD for many years at St. Joseph Church in Coraopolis where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a dedicated hospice volunteer, and a faithful member of The Christian Mothers. She also had a deep love for the Felician Sisters from Moon Township.

In addition to her beloved husband Arthur, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol, daughter-in-law Marianne, and brothers, William, and Robert. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Zula Jean Johnston, sister-in-law, Linda Fiedler, brother-in-law Don Fiedler, sons Eric (Beth), Tim (Resi), Don (Tina), 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who remained dear to her heart until the end.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tapestry Senior Living in Moon Township for the love and compassion they gave to Miss Elizabeth over the last eighteen Months.

Viewing will be at Copeland’s, 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis on Sunday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Prayer will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 12:30 pm followed by a funeral mass at 1 pm at St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth’s name can be made to The Felician Sisters of North America https://www.feliciansistersna.org/giving/

Tim, Resi and family....you have our deepest sympathy. Betty always had a smile one her face and a kind word for everyone. Will remember the times working in the school or during St. Joseph's festivals. May the angels welcome her and our Lord grant you peace.
