William Gamble
William G. Gamble, 53, of Dowagiac, MI, passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2021 at his home in Dowagiac. Clark Chapel – 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI, has been entrusted with arrangements. William was born on Sept. 16, 1967 in Marshfield, WI to William and Rosemary (Weis) Gamble. After graduation from Byron High School in 1985, he served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1985-1991 while on the USS Enterprise. On June 3, 2000, in Dowagiac, at Sacred Heart Church, he married Christina Lee Schaus. William worked at the power plant at the University of Notre Dame as a supervisor since 2009. He attended St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles, MI. William is survived by his wife – Christina; his mother – Rosemary Gamble of Flint, MI; sisters – Denys (Lawrence Schneider) Kimble of Swartz Creek, MI, Donna (Scott) Price of Brighton, MI and Melissa Brewer of Livonia, MI; nephews – Marc and Rob Kimble and Christian (Sara) Price; and nieces – Victoria Price, Katy (John) Lott and Lauren Brewer. He was best known as Uncle Bill (UB) to so many other nephews, nieces and great-nephews/nieces. William is preceded in death by his father William in 2018, and brothers-in-law Tim Brewer in 2020 and Chris Kimble in 2003. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 9, 11:00am, at Holy Maternity of Mary Church – 210 N. Front St., Dowagiac, MI. Visitation with the family is on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00pm – with a Rosary recited at 7:30pm, at Clark Chapel in Dowagiac. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
