Donald Sherva Obituary

Donald Sherva, 84, of Northwood, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at his home in Northwood with his daughter Jodi, all of her kids and grandkids and grandson, Ben, by his side. He was so at peace you could almost see Heaven with each passing breath.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Community Bible Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Donald Sherva was born April 17, 1937, to Bernard and Alma Sherva. He attended school in Northwood with some winter months spent out in Texas. Don married the love of his life, Janice Myron on October 24, 1955 in Northwood. They were blessed with two children, Mitchell Wade and Jodi Lynn.

Don began farming his own quarter and grew from there. After his farming years, he worked as a chemical salesman out at the Northwood Airport. He had a passion for flying and owned two planes at one time. Another passion of Don and Janice’s (maybe not so much his) was they both owned gold wings and traveled many areas around the United States. Dad and a few of his buddies even took tours on their bikes through Mexico on a few different occasions. Both mom and dad had a passion for vacations: multiple cruises, Vegas, Hawaii, multiple visits to Mexico, and many areas visited on their bikes.

Survivors include his two children, Mitch and Jodi along with grandchildren: Lukas (Jenna) Chase, Chantell (Tony) Hayder, Hayley Chase, Jenna (Tyler) Peterson, Adam Beine, Megan Beine, Robert, Ben, Caitlyn, Max, Mitchell Jr., and Alice Sherva; Oh he did love his great grandchildren, in fact so much that many were rewarded with their on special name given to them by him: Justice Chase; Ben, Audrey, and Owen Hayder; Charis Chase; Tylynn (Matilda) and Layne (Jasper) Peterson; Alexa (Bonnie), Parker (Clyde) and Tucker (Ole) Beine; and Maverick Herman.

Dad will be greatly missed by his most faithful companion, Kikki, his dog, who literally cried when he passed away. Kikki will continue to be loved and spoiled as God’s creature.

Dad will always be missed but even trying to imagine Heaven, it is absolutely impossible to even imagine a glimpse of it.

Dad is also survived by his sister, Delores Cabler of Texas; his in-laws: Diane Sondreal, Jane Kaiser, Jim (Sue) Myron, Darrell (Glenda) Myron, Suzie Myron, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Janice; parents, Ben and Alma Sherva; brother, Gordon Sherva, who passed away at the age of 2 due to pneumonia; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Ruth) Sherva; sister and brother-in-law, Bea (Peder) Korsmo; brother-in-law, John Keiser; Father and Mother-in-law, Charles and Alice Myron; in-laws: Robert (Delores) Myron, Roger Myron, David (Debbie) Myron and Patricia (Robert) Asleson; James Cabler and numerous nieces and nephews.
