David Rodriguez, 68, formerly of Union Beach, passed away on Saturday, May 29th, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel. He was born and raised in Salinas, Puerto Rico. David lived in Matawan for ten years, before moving to Union Beach. He retired after 40 years of service from Imperial Oil, Morganville, where he was a forklift operator. David enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, was an avid Mets fan, loved sports especially boxing and loved going to church. David is pre deceased by his parents; Santos Cartagena and Valentin Rodriguez, a brother; Jose A. Rodriguez Cartagena and his wife, Katherine Rodriguez. He is survived by his children; David S. Rodriguez of Holmdel, Jocelyn Rodriguez and her husband Harry Dones of Roselle Park, Valentino Rodriguez of Union Beach, Jason Rodriguez of Raritan and Victor Michael Riley of Keyport, his brothers and sisters; Elsa I. Rodriguez Cartagena, Hilda I. Rodriguez Cartagena, Miguel A. Rodriguez Cartagena, Camilo Rodriguez Cartagena, Felix Rodriguez Cartagena and Marylin Rodriguez Cartagena, six grandchildren; Eliana Rodriguez, Jiselle love Rodriguez, Melissa, Anthony and Tino Dones and John Carmine Rodriguez; three great grandchildren; Xavier, Naomi and Arya and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, June 4th from 2-5pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers the family will be accepting donations.
