Ennon Harry Culpepper, Jr., 81, of Hamilton passed away Saturday May 22, 2021 at Columbus Hospice. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Friday May 28, 2021 at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Rick Lipp officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton. Mr. Culpepper was born on January 21, 1940 in Cusseta, GA, the son of Ennon Harry Culpepper, Sr. and Essie Sizemore Culpepper. He grew up on a farm that is now Fort Benning before the family eventually settled in Columbus. After his schooling, he joined the Navy, honorably serving his country from 1957-1963 on the USS Casa Grande. Mr. Culpepper worked as a heavy equipment operator for more than forty years, retiring from York-Lipp Construction. He enjoyed working on small engines, hunting and fishing. He attended Ebenezer Baptist Church, Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Debra Sue Culpepper; and brother, Philip Culpepper. He is survived by his sons, Scott Culpepper of Ellerslie, GA and Shelby (Amy) Culpepper of Moses Lake, WA; daughter, Janet (Shannon) Brown of Mauk, GA; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
