The Gates of Heaven opened for Gail Blackburn Cochran on May 22, 2021. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Danny Mulkey officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at OakCrest. She was born on January 12, 1948 to Floyd Blackburn and Billie Bayes Blackburn. She was blessed with two other wonderful parents in her life -- Loyd Cathey and Alberta Blackburn. She was married to the love of her life, Thurman J. Cochran, Jr. on February 10, 1967. They have two of the most wonderful children in the world -- Elizabeth and Matthew Cochran and the BEST daughter-in-law ever, Tania Cochran, who gave her two treasured grandchildren, Taylan and Caseton. She was privileged to share ln their lives and enjoyed the best times and memories. She is survived by those mentioned above and two sisters, Charlotte Erlanson and Shelia Koon, as well as several nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her four-legged companion, Cinnamon, and a special friend, Mary Tindell. She was fortunate to enjoy her careers as Waco Jaycees office manager, legal secretary for many years and her joy of working with her deaf children at Waco ISD for several years as well as the Deaf community and friends. We want to express our sincere appreciation to her medical team. Pallbearers will be Jeff Erlanson, Caseton Cochran, Mickey Cochran, Jr., Chris Cochran, Robert Cochran and Donald Littleton.
