Timothy Michael Brucks Obituary

Beloved husband and father, Timothy Michael Brucks, born November 24, 1969, in Whittier, CA slipped quietly into Jesus’ arms on May 14th 2021, surrounded by family. He was stricken by a catastrophic stroke and found in Jesus Christ, the cure for death. We will always celebrate Tim’s birthday into heaven each year with his favorite cheesecake dessert. A most generous Man of God in life, also a Universal Giver in death. He had the perfect blood type and pure, strong body to qualify to donate his organs to EVERYONE needing a donor match. This final sacrifice was so emblematic of Tim’s entire life of love and service to others. Tim was the ideal husband, father, son, brother and employee in life and ideal donor in death. He was our HERO and friend. In 1994, Tim married Tami Brucks, at a beautiful outdoor ceremony near Hedge Creek Falls, Dunsmuir, CA. Tim is survived by his adoring wife, Tami; and five children: Carolyn, Shiloh, Grace, Jessica and Jonathan. He is also survived by his parents, Jack and Ann Brucks of Anaheim, CA; brother, Mark Brucks and family of Corona, CA; and sister, Sara Johnson and family of Anaheim, CA. First and foremost, Tim was a Man of God and faithful follower of Jesus Christ from whom he drew his strength to love and serve others so well. Tim graduated Summa Cum Laude from Esperanza High of Anaheim, CA then attended Biola University before transferring to Cal-Poly Pomona completing his BS in Aerospace Engineering Magna Cum Laude. Shortly after being married in 1996, he and Tami moved to Tucson, AZ starting their family. While there he earned his MS in Electrical Engineering from USC. Upon finishing his BS, Tim worked for Hughes/Raytheon where he designed the LEAP missile defense system. A replica is found at the Dulles Air and Space Museum. Next Tim worked for Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD. Lastly, Tim worked for Sierra Nevada Corporation Hagerstown/San Antonio as a Principle Scientist and one of SNC’s leading experts in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. He was an outstanding leader, mentor, and invaluable contributor at Sierra Nevada Corporation, and an incredible friend to all. Tim was in the research phase of earning another degree and likely will be posthumously awarded his PHD in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas San Antonio. We were all blessed by his life and the world will continue to be blessed by the legacy of faith and love he has left behind. Proverbs 19:22 states that what is desirable in a man is his kindness and Tim's love, kindness, and sense of humor flowed out throughout his all too brief life. He poured himself into his family giving of himself as a servant to all, demonstrating daily of his love and patience with each one of us and that love that he received from Jesus flowed out to his neighbors whom he willingly helped and served quietly at every turn. Always helping, encouraging and humbly assisting those in need, he didn't like attention being drawn to himself but rather drew attention to Jesus Christ in his daily life and in the many Bible studies he led and participated in over many decades. The same seeds of faith that his parents planted within him bore great fruit in his life at home, at work, in the neighborhood and most importantly in the hearts of his family. You only need to look in the eyes of his children and his wife and see the careful tending, love, humor and faith that he placed in each one. Tim's organs have been donated to those in need and will bless them throughout their lives but even in a deeper and lasting generational gift, Tim's love and legacy will continue through his family and his friends throughout our lives and we will see him again and rejoice again with him on that great day. The world has lost a rare man of faith. Heaven has gained a faithful child of God. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Boerne City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 22, 201, at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Hills Church.
