<p>Mark A. Ortiz, age 41, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, May 15, 2021. He was born in Chicago on June 7, 1979.</p> <p>He is survived by his mother and stepfather, MaryAnn and Larry Baxter.&nbsp; He leaves behind the love of his life, Kimberly Ghanayem and her children, Nikhil and Jasmine; 3 aunts, Diane (Joe) Medina, Antoinette Alcala, Carol (John) Albanese; 3 uncles, Tony (Bonnie) Sandoval, Richard (Sharon) Sandoval, and Michael (Maria) Sandoval.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Mary Sandoval and an aunt, Patricia Jorgenson.</p> <p>He was a great son, and a great man.&nbsp; He was a nephew and cousin to many. A great friend to so many.&nbsp; He loved playing the drums. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He was kind and loving and so much more.</p> <p>Mark graduated from Taft High School in Chicago, where he attended for 2 years; he also attended St. Pat&#39;s High School in Chicago for 2 years.&nbsp; Mark graduated from&nbsp;Lincoln Technical Institute and from Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois.</p> <p>Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 20, with Prayers at 9:30 AM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, thence proceeding to Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, for 10:00 AM Mass.&nbsp; Private burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation Wednesday, May 19, from 3-9 PM at Brust Funeral Home.</p> <p>In lieu of a luncheon at this time, a Celebration of Life will be held outdoors on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 108&nbsp;N.&nbsp;Princeton Ave., Villa Park, IL 60181, starting at 2 PM.&nbsp; Please join us anytime throughout the day.&nbsp;</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mark&rsquo;s name may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 5444 S.
