Cheryl Ann Jindra was born January 31, 1948, in Beatrice, Nebraska to Richard and Peggy (Clark) Jurgens, and passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at her home in Friend at the age of 73.

As a young girl, Cheryl’s family moved to Lincoln where she later became a 1967 graduate of Northeast High School.  While in school, she was a member of the pep squad and involved with a rider’s club.  After her graduation, Cheryl worked at Traveler’s Diner (now Virginia’s Café) in Lincoln.  She was united in marriage to Ronald Jindra in 1975 and to this union two sons, Chad and Jon, and a daughter, Amber, were born.  Together they lived on the family farm south of Friend where Cheryl raised her children and worked at the Friend Country Club, working there for over 40 years.  She truly loved working at the club over the years and enjoyed her friendships with her fellow employees and serving customers.  Her family was the center of her life and loved the times spent with her grandchildren.  Cheryl also liked going to county fairs, attending the Czech days in Wilber, taking walks and taking tending to her cat.  She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and collected many Elvis memorabilia items.  Cheryl loved people and never shied away from a conversation.

Cheryl is survived by her sons, Chad Jindra, Rural Friend, Jon Jindra, Lincoln, daughter, Amber Wiederspan, also of Lincoln, 10 grandchildren, Dillan and Kyle Jindra, Alyssa Miller, Doc Jindra, Casey Jindra, Nick Wiederspan, Brianna Wiederspan, Gabe Jindra, Britney Campbell, Courtney Campbell, two great-grandchildren, Andrew Miller and Addie Miller, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald in 2004, and a brother, Jim Jurgens in 2015.
