LOUISVILLE – Donald Wayne Powell, Jr., 59, of Louisville passed away at 1:26 PM, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Donald was born on May 12, 1962, in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late Donald W. Powell, Sr., and Evea Louise (Lewis) Powell. Donald worked in Effingham for the Blue Beacon Truck Wash as a truck service technician. He loved to go fishing and boating, and he use to race in the car debris. Donald loved to watch a good NASCR race, but his true love was being with his family, he loved to spend time with his children and his grandchildren. Donald is survived by his 3 children; Gale (Doug) Browning, of Rinard, Jennifer (fiancée Cory Krutsinger) Dennis, of Louisville, Steven Powell, of Flora, 5 grandchildren; Alyssa Hazelwood, Austin VanAusdall, Matthew Dennis, Marissa Dennis, Delilah Smith, 2 great grandchildren; Brienna VanAusdall, Graycen VanAusdall. He is also survived by 2 sisters; Tina Persinger, of Flora, and Kandy McCormick, of Flora. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, 1 great granddaughter; Elliana Hazelwood, sister; Lou Ann Cruse, and brother; Martin Powell. It was Mr. Powell’s wishes for cremation and no services to be held. McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville assisted the family with the arrangements.Obituary
