Jay Petersen Noble Obituary

Jay Petersen Noble (1943-2021) lived a faithful, impactful life. With Nancy, his companion of 55 years, they raised and loved a large family--Michael (Tiffany), Steven (Brenda), Ronda Yorgesen (Kevin), Laura Fitzgerald (Brian), and Darin (Robyn). With 24 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, Jay and Nancy nurtured a legacy of leaders, entrepreneurs, adventurers, missionaries, musicians, scholars, gamers, athletes, craftsmen, loving parents, and thoughtful human beings. He died secure in the love of his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings after a 6-year struggle with Lewy body dementia with Parkinson’s. For the last 18 months, he lived in Mattawa, WA. Home, however, was Kuna, ID, where Jay and Nancy lived for 46 years, working side by side to provide for their family and building a successful business. Jay was born in Rupert, ID, to Francis and Leona Noble, the fourth of eight children (Burt, Jeanne, Carol, Darla, Judy, Kim, and Randy). They moved frequently between Idaho, California, Oregon, Washington, and Utah. Growing up, they sang together, worked together, and leaned on each other through tough times. Jay cared deeply for his family and his angel mother. Over his life, Jay also cultivated a few cherished friendships dear to him as family. His stories of growing up were shared on road trips, around campfires, and will live on in our collective memory, even as his own memory slipped away. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jay was a temple worker and a lifelong teacher of gospel doctrine. He also served three missions—a proselyting mission (Gulf States) and, with Nancy, a family-history mission (Kuna, ID) and an MLS mission (Detroit, MI) Funeral service will be held 12noon Saturday, May 22 at the Kuna Stake Center, 3305 W. Kuna Road. A viewing from 10:30-11:45am will be held at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in the Kuna Cemetery. Arrangements by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
