Tony William Montague Obituary

With broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Anthony ‘Tony’ William Montague, which occurred on Monday, May 10th, 2021. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on March 1, 1971, he was the son of Edward and the late Judith (Olsen) Montague.

Tony worked as a skilled Pipefitter for UA Local 213 and was proud to be a Union Brother, he took great pride in mentoring new apprentices. To the younger members, he always offered advice about life in the trades, as well as life advice outside of the trades. He was always an open ear and enjoyed a conversation with anyone he knew at work followed by a good laugh.

Growing up you could find Tony running the roads of Roxbury Drive, or on the baseball team where he excelled. During his junior years, he moved to the Golden Grove Road, where he later built a life.

Tony enjoyed the most simple things in life. He was known for his calm nature, and also his ability to throw it back and have a good time. He didn’t meet anybody new who did not walk away as his friend. He enjoyed putting around and working on many small projects at the house, four wheeling, kayaking and spending time with many friends, he was always up for a good game of crib. You always knew you were welcome when the garage light was on.

Tony was always the life of the party. He would always be the first person to strike up a conversation with anyone and he made friends everywhere that he went. His generosity was and will continue to be appreciated by so many. Tony was a loving father, simple and very content. He loved biking, going for drives, family barbeques, long hikes with Jane and just driving on a Sunday afternoon.

One of his greatest enjoyments and the loves of his life was spent with his buddies on the grove

His greatest joy and the light of his life was his only daughter Bryana, who he always bragged about and was quick to show off a picture of. He also loved his “grand-dogs” deeply, Levi and Henry. He was a proud and devoted father. His strength and his kindness will live on through Bryana.

Along with his father, Tony leaves behind his grandmother Doris Olsen,  loving fiancé Jane Green, his cherished daughter Bryana (Tyler) Montague, Jane’s children; Samantha (Kelly) and Santana (Cortland) as well as his brothers Chris (Audrey) and Jimmy, special lifelong friends, Robert, Dave, Ron, Mac, Mike, Roger, Hank, Pat, Greg, John, Yvon, George, Billy, Scotty, Craig, Rob and so many more… also his  many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and one niece, Emma.

He is predeceased by his unforgettable mother Judith and his best dog pal Newman.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A graveside service will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
