<p>Emily Claire Beyea, age 10, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 9, 2021 at Brenner&nbsp;Children&#39;s Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina.</p> <p>Emily was born on July 21, 2010 to her parents Amy Tyler (Lauria) Beyea and William Martin Beyea.</p> <p>An inquisitive,&nbsp;energetic, and&nbsp;curious girl, Emily was already an advocate for causes such as protecting the environment and equal rights for all.&nbsp;Her family and friends knew her to be smart, creative and ready for a challenge. For example, Emily loved designing&nbsp;houses, dance and learning to&nbsp;skateboard.&nbsp;Her favorite place to relax was her backyard swing.&nbsp;She looked forward to yearly family vacations in the Outer Banks and Hilton Head.&nbsp;Emily kept her family entertained with her wacky sense of humor and showered her family pets with love and affection.</p> <p>Emily is survived by her loving parents, Amy Tyler and William Martin Beyea; her devoted older brother, William &ldquo;Billy&rdquo; Minton Beyea; her Aunt Julie O&#39;Grady and Uncle Martin O&rsquo;Grady; her Uncle Thomas Phillips; her Aunt Courtney Lauria and Uncle Eric Mendelson; her maternal grandparents, Frank Thomas Lauria and Dr. Peggy Minton Lauria; and many cousins, aunts and uncles and valued teachers and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William Minner Beyea and Gale Beyea. A time of gathering for friends will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 11:30 AM &ndash; 1:30 PM at the Robert F. Miller Center at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A private family memorial service will be held that same day at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The service will be available to attend virtually via livestream for those outside of the family.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily&rsquo;s memory to Piedmont&nbsp;Environmental Alliance, 1959 N. Emily Claire Beyea, age 10, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 9, 2021 at Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Emily was born on July 21, 2010 to her parents Amy Tyler (Lauria) Beyea and William Martin Beyea.

An inquisitive, energetic, and curious girl, Emily was already an advocate for causes such as protecting the environment and equal rights for all. Her family and friends knew her to be smart, creative and ready for a challenge.
